Lesson 1 of 16
What is web content?
What is web content?
Web content is any information published on a website that a visitor can read, watch or interact with — text, images, video, audio, and the small bits of copy on buttons and menus. Good content answers a visitor's question or helps them complete a task.
Unlike a printed page, web content is scanned, not read. People arrive with a goal, glance around, and leave the moment they're confused.
Key points
- Content = text, media and interactive copy.
- The web is scanned, not read word-for-word.
- Good content answers a question or enables a task.
Try it: open a site you like and note the first three things your eye lands on.
